Wrenbury Village Website started in 2000, and since then it has grown to give comprehensive coverage of what is going on in Wrenbury and the surrounding area. However, in recent times it has started to look and feel a bit stale, and despite advertising for a new volunteer to take it on and inject fresh ideas, nobody has come forward. Visitor numbers have also been in steady decline, no doubt due to the infrequent updates and lack of topical content. Recently the Parish Council have launched their own independent site, and this covers much of the same material, with guides to village societies and activities, local commerce, a photo gallery and promising new blog and current news features, as well as all the "official" stuff on Council business and links to other public bodies. Having two separate sites with such a strong overlap in one small village is clearly not sensible, so the time has come for us to bow out gracefully. We have moved all the material on Scarecrow Trails to our sister site, www.scarecrowtrail.co.uk, but for everything else, please visit the Parish Council at www.wrenburypc.org.uk. In closing, we would like to thank all our contributors over the past eleven years for their enthusiasm and support. I'd like to think we became part of the community, and this would not have happened without you. 23 Sep 2011 |
